For Design Sake
Born and raised in Southern California, surfing is my first and longest surviving passion. The desire to express my own style of wave riding compelled me to design and shape my own surfboards. Each new surfboard design became another cherished example of form and function. Natural progressions to the expression of my artistic perspective were photography, clothing and poster art. My studies at Art Center College of Design developed my artistic skills to include graphics, packaging and advertising. Upon graduation, I went to New York City to pursue my ambitions as an aspiring Art Director. I quickly learned to apply my creative skills to my newfound profession demonstrating an intuitive understanding of branding design. Through the years I have applied creativity towards my endeavors and learned many valuable lessons. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to professionally apply these lessons while continuing to nurture my own enduring creative sprit.

After 15 years of creative service for various advertising, branding and design projects, creativity has remained my defining characteristic. With youthful design school idealism I maintain my passion for the creative process through complicated corporate objectives. Whether I am a working solo or as part of a team I remain dedicated to the creation of unique stories that can be told across a variety of media. My work is designed to build a brand’s unique character so that it may become relevant to the consumer. From concept to campaign I direct advertising messages that are conceptual and memorable. My process is based on a “big picture” perspective of which the goal is to define a wide creative territory and systematically refine the viable options. Successful results employ my “keep it simple” doctrine as I lead with clear direction and consultation. My clients benefit from this creative process developed to produce diverse solutions. It gives me great pride as these solutions are implemented and quantitative results measured.
